Rachel Ward is a former actress and also a filmmaker, mother, grandmother and farmer.
As an actress Rachel starred in the CBS’s biggest rating mini-series ever, ‘The Thornbirds’ and the films, ‘Against All Odds’, ‘Sharky’s Machine’ and ‘Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid’. She has had 3 Golden Globe nominations. For the past 15 years Rachel has been directing/writing films and TV in Australia, accruing numerous film industry awards and nominations along the way, including for her feature film ‘Beautiful Kate’, which screened at Sydney, Toronto and Palm Springs Film Festivals and garnered 11 AFI nominations and ‘Palm Beach’ which was one of the 3 top grossing Australian films of 2019.
