Paul Matonya is an early-career marine scientist from Tanzania, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Technology from the University of Dar es Salaam. His passion lies in marine conservation, sustainable blue economy, and community empowerment.As a young ocean leader, Paul is dedicated to engaging youth and local communities in ocean conservation initiatives. His work focuses on ecosystem restoration, particularly in mangroves, seagrasses, and coral reefs, aiming to build climate resilience and sustainable livelihoods. Paul’s commitment to environmental stewardship is evident in his efforts to promote eco-friendly seaweed farming techniques and his advocacy for climate change awareness. Through his leadership, he strives to inspire the next generation of ocean leaders and foster inclusive, community-driven conservation efforts.
