Dr. Nyam-Osor BATKHUU is Professor of Forest Environmental Sciences at the National University of Mongolia. He earned a MSc in Forest Science from National University of Mongolia and PhD from Seoul National University, Republic of Korea. Prof. Batkhuu is Head of the Laboratory of Forest Genetics and Ecophysiology, is engaged in extensive collaborative research projects in the field of restoration and rehabilitation of degraded forest lands and combating desertification, land degradation, and ecophysiological aspects of plantation forests in Mongolia. He is author of over 20 research articles, 6 book chapters and over 100 abstracts and presentations. He is Division Deputy Coordinator for the International Union of Forest Research Organizations, board member of East Asia Biodiversity Conservation Network, board member of Asian Federation of Biotechnology, and member of the Korea Forest Society and the Mongolian Forest Forum.
