Nikola is supporting restoration strategy at Conservation International, where he is facilitating an organizational effort to scale-up the restoration of the world’s degraded landscapes. He is developing resources, workshops, and business models to facilitate the widespread adoption of restoration best practices that are informed by local contexts, and is connecting local field sites to the global financial and technical resources they need to successfully steward restored ecosystems.
Nikola holds a joint Master of Forestry and Master of Business Administration from the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies and the Yale School of Management. He has worked as an assistant forest manager for the Yale School Forests, developed inclusive economic development policy tools for city governments, was the lead author on the 2016 Environmental Performance Index agriculture section, and pursued his own ecological farming start-up. Nikola obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from Vassar College and has lived in France, Panama, Brazil, and the US.
