My name is Nemo Andy Guiquita, leader of Women and Health of CONFENIAE, I am of the Waorani Nationality.
Since I was very young I got involved in my organization (NAWE) looking for spaces for women of my nationality to defend our territories, equal rights, after several years we were able to create our association of Waorani women, where we undertook several projects such as Waorani chocolate, and the craft store that are made with chambira by hand, with which many women help economically to the family and the conservation of our forests and illegal hunting of animals and extractive projects that damage the forest.
I was also vice president of the Waorani Nationality in 2017, where I was always participating in the struggles of Confeniae and Conaie and before the demands that we need the nationalities to prevail our rights.
I am currently working on women’s issues with training schools such as the Antisuyu Warmikuna and on intercultural health issues such as ancestral medicine from CONFENIAE in territory, which allows us to continue with the thread of the transmission of the knowledge of our wise men and women for our future generations.
