M. Choaïbou NCHOUTPOUEN, a Cameroonian national, has been the Deputy Executive Secretary of the Central African Forests Commission (COMIFAC) since June 2021. He has over sixteen years of experience in the field of biological diversity of Central Africa, including 9 years as a COMIFAC expert. A trained forestry engineer, he holds a master’s degree in forestry/agroforestry and biology and plant physiology from the University of Yaoundé I. His expertise spans several key areas, including the conservation, sustainable management and economic valuation of biodiversity as well as international negotiations related to biodiversity. He is well-versed with the bilateral and multilateral cooperation partners of COMIFAC and its member states and is bilingual in French and English.
