Nana Yaw Osei-Darkwa

Nana Yaw Osei-Darkwa is a Ghanaian social entrepreneur and youth activist who earlier in 2018 launched the Green Republic Project, a youth-driven grassroots effort to fight against climate change through tree planting. The initiative calls on the youth of Ghana to plant 20 million trees in the country by 2028.

Osei-Darkwa has a background in communication and over a decade of experience in non-violent social change. He was named Peace Ambassador by the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) Ghana Chapter, Giraffe Hero by the Giraffe Heroes International USA and was the first recipient of the Bruce W. Tancrel Memorial Scholarship from the Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies of the University of Rhodes Island. He led several iconic peace campaigns such as the 1Ghana Peace Project 2008, the Ghana Peace Campaign 2012 (re-enacting the million march for peace in Ghana) and the 2016 Ghana Peace Invasion Campaign.
