Mulugeta Worku is a versatile development professional with over 30 years of experiences in leading, coordinating and managing development projects and programmes across a wide range of development and environmental topics, encompassing natural resources management, climate-resilient and low-carbon development, market-based agricultural programmes, and sustainable livelihoods. Mulugeta served for organizations including Farm Africa, Oxfam GB, Christian Aid, Save the Children UK, and the Consortium of Christian Relief & Development Association (CCRDA). He currently works for the Ministry of Planning and Development, Ethiopia, in the capacity of Project Manager and coordinates a multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder project entitled ‘Preventing Forest Loss, Promoting Restoration, and Integrating Sustainability into Ethiopia’s Coffee Value Chains and Food Systems’. Mulugeta led a team of experts for the development of National Framework for Climate Services (NFCS) – Ethiopia and has conducted various researches & studies encompassing biodiversity & vegetation dynamics, climate risks and resilience, eco-friendly beekeeping development needs assessment, project evaluation including baseline assessments, mid-term reviews, and final evaluations. Mulugeta’s key competencies include: Python-based data analysis & web development, GIS and remote sensing in natural resources management & agricultural systems; climate risk analysis; research and statistical analysis; project/program development & management; organizational capacity building; monitoring & evaluation; team leadership; partnership management; and risk management. He holds an M.Sc. degree in Disaster Risk Science and Sustainable Development from Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia and a B.Sc. in Agriculture from Haramaya University, Ethiopia.
