Mayumi Sato

Mayumi is a Research Associate at the Center for People and Forests – RECOFTC working on social inclusion and gender equity in forestry landscapes across Southeast Asia and Nepal. She is currently completing her second year as a Princeton in Asia Fellow, where she has spent the last two years living in Thailand learning tremendously about Southeast Asian culture and societies, while slowly increasing her tolerance to delicious spicy cuisine and improving her Thai language skills. Originally from Japan, and having grown up in various geographies across North America and Asia, Mayumi is passionate about language learning, activism, and understanding identity.
