Marius Ekué

Marius is currently working on safeguarding tree genetic resources (including developing genetic tools for timber legality verification) and forest restoration using native species. He is the coordinator of the sub-Saharan African Forest Genetic Resources Programme (SAFORGEN) and also represents Bioversity in Cameroon. Marius is an agronomist (University of Abomey-Calavi) and holds a MSc in Tropical Forestry and a PhD in Forest Genetics and Forest Tree Breeding (University of Göttingen). Before joining Bioversity, he worked at the Thünen Institute of Forest Genetics (Germany), the University of Abomey-Calavi (Benin) and the “Institut National des Recherches Agricoles du Bénin” (INRAB).
