Marc Abadie, Inspector General of the Administration, 61 years old, graduated from one Master of “management of local authorities” and one Master of public law. He started his career as deputy general manager and then general manager of the municipal services of Créteil (January 1981 – May 1984). Then he was successively head of the supervisory office of the chambers of agriculture and their permanent assembly at the direction of the Financial and Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Agriculture (June 1984-December 1985), project officer at the general directorate of Local Authorities of the Ministry of the Interior and Decentralization (January 1986 – August 1987) and Director General of the Central Services of the French League of Education (August 1987 – May 1988). In May 1988, he was appointed technical advisor to the cabinet of Jean-Michel Baylet, Secretary of State to the Minister of the Interior, in charge of Territorial Communities, then in February 1989, Chief of Staff of Jean- Michel Baylet and Technical Advisor in the cabinet of Pierre Joxe, Minister of the Interior. From June 1990 to August 1992, he was appointed inspector of the administration at the Ministry of the Interior. In September 1992, he was appointed Chief of Staff to Jean-Michel Baylet, Minister of Tourism. Inspector of the administration from April 1993 to August 1995, he became director of human resources and management control of the regional press group “La Dépêche du Midi” and held this position until May 1997. He was then appointed chief of staff of Emile Zuccarelli, Minister of Civil Servants, State Reform and Decentralization. In July 1999, he was appointed Director of Political, Administrative and Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Overseas Territories. From October 2002 to February 2005, he was Director of Economic Development, Employment and Vocational Training and Deputy Director General of Services at the Regional Council of Ile de France. From February to December 2005, he was CEO of Saint-Gobain Development, then in December 2005, he returned to the General Inspectorate of Administration at the Ministry of the Interior. From September 2006 to January 2009, he was appointed head of the French delegation to the intergovernmental commission for control of the Channel Tunnel. In August 2008, he became General Manager of the Adour-Garonne water agency until December 2012. He then held the position of Head the General Inspection of the Administration from January 2013 to February 2015. On February 1, 2015, he was appointed Director of the Caisse des Dépôts Group’s Network and Territories until March 26, 2018, when he became Chairman of CDC Biodiversité, a subsidiary of Caisse des Dépôts dedicated to the preservation of biodiversity. He is also a member of the Caisse des Dépôts Group Executive Committee.
He was also associate professor at the Institute of Political Studies of Toulouse from 1992 to 2016.

Marc Abadie is also a Knight in the Order of the Legion of Honor, an Officer in the National Order of Merit and in the Order of Academic Palms.
