Maija Peltola has more than 15 years of experience at the intersection of the public and private sectors. Her interests include financing for development, blue economy, and innovations and technology.
Currently, she is Country Director of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) for Colombia, the Dominican Republic and Guyana.
From this financial institution and UN agency, it supports investments for more sustainable, inclusive and resilient food systems.
Before IFAD, Maija founded and led her own consulting firm Camaleonte, a pioneering company in the Nordic countries dedicated to inclusive business solutions.
Peltola has a degree in Anthropological Sciences, with a specialty in Social Anthropology, from the Autonomous University of Yucatán, Mexico. In addition, she has a diploma in Service Design & Product Development and completed university studies in Leadership and International Business.
She has worked in more than 30 countries and speaks Spanish, English, French, Italian and Finnish.
