Mahamat is a Chadian national with more than twenty years’ experience in the field of environment, climate change adaptation and mitigation and sustainable development. Previous positions include Senior Climate Change specialist at Adaptation Fund and lead Results Based Management (current position). His professional background includes the Sustainable Development Agenda with an emphasis on LDCs, SIDS and African States; policy and portfolio management in Climate Change, Sustainable Development and Environmental Management, including experiences on environmental, social and gender equality and safeguards. Mahamat is also serving on different bodies including as advisory board member of the WMO Systematic Observation Financing Facility as well as part of the support unit for the Transitional Committee on the operationalization of the funding arrangements and new fund for responding to loss and damage. He holds a Master in Economic Analysis and Sustainable Development in Developing countries (University of Auvergne, France), a Master of Leadership in Sustainable Finance (Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, Germany).
