Lizet Mejía is an environmental engineer from UNASAM and an Andean climate activist from Huaraz, Peru. She is Project Coordinator of Qinti Peru, where she works on restoration of high Andean ecosystems and conservation of water sources. She is also the co-founder of Trenzando MinkAyni, from where she promotes Manka Warmis, an initiative that promotes women’s empowerment, food security and climate education.
She is part of various conservation and youth leadership networks, including the Network of Young Leaders in Protected and Conserved Areas of Latin America and the Caribbean (ReLLAC Jovenes), GYBN Peru, World Food Forum Peruvian Chapter and YPARD Peru. In 2025 she was recognized as a Young Forest Champion by the FAO. She has represented Peruvian youth in high-level international spaces, including COP16 on Biodiversity and processes linked to COP30 on Climate Change, promoting the integration of ancestral knowledge, science and youth participation to strengthen landscape regeneration, biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.
