Lee Chang Jae

Dr. LEE Chang Jae is the President of the National Institute of Forest Science (NIFoS) of the Korea Forest Service (KFS). He assumed office in January 2017 after having served as Director General of the Forest Resources Bureau of KFS for two years. From 2011 to 2014 he had been on secondment to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (UN FAO) before returning to the Korea Forest Service as Director General of the International Affairs Bureaufor one year. In 1994 Dr. Lee obtained his Ph. D. in forest resources studies from Seoul National University, where he also completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s studies in forestry. He started his career with the Korea Forest Service in 1986 and has served in several leading positions in the KFS since then.
