Lars Graudal is a Senior Advisor in Tropical Trees and Landscapes at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH) and Science Domain Co-Leader of Tree Productivity and Diversity at the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) in Kenya. Leads the cluster on delivery in the flagship on tree genetic resources within the CGIAR CRP on Forest, Trees and Agroforestry (FTA).

Forty years in forestry and agroforestry. Specialized in use and conservation of genetic resources of trees with current focus on forest landscape restoration as a key component of climate change mitigation and adaptation. Field experience from more than twenty countries in tropical Africa, Asia and Latin America with emphasis on Africa, mostly in support of national tree seed programmes.

Worked 1983-2003 for The Danish Forest and Nature Agency, FAO, The Danish Tree Improvement Station and Danida Forest Seed Centre (DFSC). From 2004-2012, Director of Research in forest genetic resources at the Danish National Centre for Forest, Landscape and Planning (FLD). Member of the FAO Panel of Experts on Forest Gene Resources 2001-2007. Since 2010 Chairman of the Steering Committee of the global teak information network, TEAKNET.
