Kristell Hergoualc’h is a scientist in ecosystems functioning with CIFOR’s climate change, energy and low-carbon development team. She has more than 10 years of experience in conducting research on climate change mitigation in tropical countries including Indonesia, Peru and Costa Rica. She is specialized in biogeochemical impacts that deforestation, forest degradation and land-use change have on greenhouse gas fluxes and carbon stocks. She is lead author of several IPCC reports, notably of the wetland supplement to the 2006 guidelines for national greenhouse gas inventories.
