Kay Kumaras Kalim is the Director for Sustainable Environment Programs Division with Conservation and Environment Protection Authority. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Chemistry from the PNG University of Technology. She has over 32 years experience in environment and conservation matters with 19 years as a regulator in the former Department of Environment and Conservation as Assistant Secretary for Water Resources Branch and Director Enforcement Branch with the Environment Division. She has moved over to the Sustainable Environment Programs formerly as the Deputy Secretary now as the Director to lead in developing various policies and tools to help manage protected areas effectively at all levels of the government and communities. She is the current Project Director for all GEF projects in country helping in implementing the PA policy in various projects sites of PNG.
