Juliane Wiesenhütter is team leader at GIZ, division Rural Development and Agriculture for the Sector Project on Soil Protection, Combating Desertification and Sustainable Land Management. She is an advisor to the German UNCCD Focal Point. As a master’s graduate Geographer, she gained working experience in West and East Africa and developed key competencies in natural resource management, international environmental policies, rural development, Climate change mitigation and adaptation, project management and institutional development. She is appointed with GIZ in 2003 with stations in Mali, Benin, Burundi, Rwanda and Germany.
