Josimara Melgueiro (Baré) is an Indigenous woman of the Baré people from the Upper Rio Negro, Brazilian Amazon. An administrator and activist, she has dedicated her career to strengthening Indigenous-led financing mechanisms. She is the Coordinator of the Rutî Indigenous Fund, of the Indigenous Council of Roraima (CIR). She is also part of the Network of Community Funds of the Brazilian Amazon (RFCA), which brings together Indigenous, quilombola, extractivist, coconut breaker, and traditional community funds. With extensive experience in financial governance, climate finance advocacy, and Indigenous philanthropy, she works at the intersection of local initiatives and global climate policy, promoting direct access to resources, territorial sustainability, and Indigenous solutions to the climate emergency.
