Jonathan Caxun is a forest restoration and conservation specialist at the Private Institute for Climate Change Research (ICC) in Guatemala. Before joining ICC, Jonathan built his professional experience at Guatemala’s National Forest Institute (INAB) as a forest restoration technician, where he led training programs, developed technical materials, and conducted research for national-level forest landscape restoration projects. He also worked with the National Coffee Association of Guatemala, focusing on carbon research within agroforestry systems in the country’s coffee-growing regions. At ICC, Jonathan oversees the planning and monitoring of forest plant production through ICC-managed regional nurseries, as well as municipal, community, and institutional nurseries. His responsibilities also include monitoring reforested areas across the South Coast, participating in forest landscape restoration dialogue platforms, and contributing to forest research initiatives.
