John Agboola is an agriculturist/farmer with a passion for agricultural research for development. He is a value chain catalyst, mechanization and communication expert with a degree in Agricultural Economics and Extension from Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria. He was part of the team that worked on the British America Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATNF) market study for vegetable enterprise in Lagos State; Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) multi-crop value chain studies for six commodities: (maize, groundnut, cowpea, millet, sorghum and plantain) in Nigeria. He has developed Agricultural policies such as Akwa Ibom state agricultural policy, the BATNF review of the Nigeria agricultural promotion policy. He has trained over 100 youths on ICT and social media for agribusiness. He is the communication focal person for Young Professional for Agricultural Development (YPARD), Nigeria and a trailblazer of AGCO Qualification Programme at the Strathmore Business School, Nairobi, Kenya.
John is the team lead of AgrindusNetwrok, a lover of smallholder farmers, youth in agriculture, community development and advocate of environmental sustainability and climate-smart agriculture.
