Joary Niaina ANDRIAMIHARIMANANA is a technical advisor within the Conservation and sustainable use of natural resources Program (PAGE) of GIZ in Madagascar. He is leading the Forest and Landscape Restoration thematic, in charge of technical support for the MEDD Ministry (Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development) to implement the country’s commitment to the AFR100 initiative, to restore 4 million ha of degraded and deforested land by 2030. His intervention is focusing on the establishment of intersectoral dialogue and the development of strategic framework documents for FLR implementation. Joary is an agronomist engineer with a specialization in forestry and environment from the University of Antananarivo, Madagascar. Before joining GIZ, he has worked extensively on community forestry and the development of natural resources value chains with the NGO Man and The Environment.
