Jean-François Bastin is an ecologist and a geographer using remote sensing to study the relationship between global change and terrestrial ecosystems (Global Change Ecology). Taking the most of the information from the ground and from space, he developed applied research to better understand the role of vegetation in the global carbon cycle and to address climate change issues through the development of ecosystem restoration strategies.
