Jamal Annagylyjova

Jamal Annagylyjova (1974, Ashgabat) graduated from State University of Turkmenistan, Environmental Sciences. During the period of 1996-2007 worked as a researcher in the National Institute of Deserts, Flora and Fauna of Turkmenistan. In 2002, received a Doctoral degree at the Geographical Institute of the University of Cologne, Germany.

Jamal Annagylyjova has been engaged in the various environmental projects and programmes in Central Asia with the broad range of international agencies, such as UNDP, FAO, Asian Development Bank, GIZ, ICARDA.

Since 2011, Ms. Annagylyjova is the Regional Coordinator for Central and Eastern Europe in the UNCCD Secretariat.

She is an author of several publications related to land degradation, desert ecology, water resources in Turkmenistan and Central Asia.
