Imam A. El Marzuq is the global lead of Thriving Landscapes at the Rainforest Alliance, an international non-profit organization, works to restore the balance between people and nature for both to thrive in harmony. He is responsible for coordinating and delivering the Thriving Landscapes vision, enabling the Rainforest Alliance to achieve greater mission impact towards its 2030 strategy.
With over 18 years of experience in sustainability, program management, and stakeholder engagement, Imam has made significant contributions to the field of sustainable commodities. Prior to his current role, he worked at the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), where he played a crucial role in building partnerships and promoting sustainable palm oil practices. At the RSPO he was overseeing global community outreach activities aimed at supporting, engaging, and empowering rural communities affected by oil palm cultivation.
Imam’s educational background in forest management from Gadjah Mada University and Executive Master of Business Administration from Quantic School of Business and Technology, a combination that provides him with a profound foundation in both environmental science and business. As a sustainability professional, Imam is committed to advancing sustainable land use practices and promoting the well-being of both people and the planet, a journey in driving positive change and creating a more sustainable future.
