Helen Biangalen-Magata belongs to the Kadaclan Indigenous peoples from Paracelis, Mountain Province. She is the Communications Officer of Tebtebba, an NGO working for the promotion, protection and fulfillment of Indigenous peoples’ rights. In the last ten years, she has been working in the field of research, education and communication specifically on Indigenous peoples’ rights, climate change, community development and climate finance. Helen holds a master’s degree in Development Communication from the University of the Philippines Open University. She’s currently part of the Indigenous peoples’ team that is tasked to work on lobbying for the recognition of indigenous peoples’ rights in climate finance, particularly the Green Climate Fund.
