Heitor is an interdisciplinary researcher with more than 10 years of experience working with multiple stakeholders for the design and implementation of sustainable and multi-functional agroecosystems. He has been involved in various projects in Brazil and Europe that connect science, practice, extension and education. The main focus of his research is biodiversity, ecosystem services, agroecology, agroforestry systems and soil functions. He is also interested in using participatory and innovative methodologies to develop research and manage projects with societal impact. Heitor is a forest engineer who graduated at Universidade Federal de Viçosa, and he holds a PhD in Production Ecology & Resource Conservation at Wageningen University, and in Soil Science and Plant Nutrition at Universidade Federal de Viçosa.
