Gonzalo has been an agronomist for more than 17 years. He has worked principally in the Amazonian provinces of Morona Santiago and Napo with indigenous cultures including the Achuar, Shuar and Kichwa people. His focus is geared towards empowering farmers as the first step towards building Amazonian value chains. Gonzalo is an expert in implementing production processes with added value that meet important social and environmental standards such as BPM, Organic and Fair Trade. An important part of Gonzalo’s role on the Aliados team is to develop the producers’ capacities to improve their production processes efficiently and sustainably thus meeting the expectations of special market niches that respect the social, cultural and environmental realities in which our partner communities live.
