
Mr. Place leads the CGIAR Policies, Institutions and Markets Program impact assessment research in addition to overseeing the program. Previously, he worked for the World Agroforestry Center in Nairobi, Kenya for more than 20 years on issues related to property rights, soil fertility and adoption and impact of agroforestry practices. Prior to that, he worked on land tenure studies at the Land Tenure Center and the World Bank. Mr. Place holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Wisconsin.
