Francis has a BSc in Geography and Environmental studies from the University of Nairobi and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in conflict resolution. He is currently a Program Officer at the National Cohesion and Integration Commission of Kenya having previously worked with community-based organizations in Laikipia County.

Francis played a key role in creating awareness on the impacts of the invasive plant Opuntia strictaand facilitated the introduction of the biocontrol agent Dactylopius opuntiae. His role in sensitizing his community on benefits of the biocontrol agent was key as he championed community adoption of the agent
