His research focuses on the use of maps and participatory mapping by indigenous peoples to assert and secure their land rights globally. As the principal operator of the World Atlas of Indigenous Peoples’ Territories project (WAIPT- http://www.iheal.univ-paris3.fr/en/recherche/waipt-project), Fabrice has also been an active member of the operations team of LandMark (www.landmarkmap.org)-the first online, interactive global platform to provide maps and other critical information on lands that are collectively held and used by indigenous peoples and local communities-since the early stages of its conception and development.
