“I have been part of Guyra Paraguay´s Conservation Units and Sites Program since 2015. My experience ranges from habitat recovery to protected areas management and now to launching community-owned enterprises for shade-grown certified yerba mate from the Paraguayan Atlantic Forest. With my team, I am exploring a range of strategies to protect this precious forest, such as payment for environmental services and a regional action plan that crosses borders, just as our forest does. We engage strongly with the start up sector in Paraguay so we can continue to learn about how to use business for the good of people and biodiversity. The future of our forest comes from diverse sources and partnerships.”
