Dietmar Stoian is Lead Scientist, Value Chains, Private Sector Engagement and Investments at World Agroforestry (ICRAF). Dietmar engages in value chain research and development with a livelihoods, public and private policy and investment perspective. He has a keen interest in interdisciplinary research at the interface between biophysical and social sciences and achieving impact at scale through partnerships with governmental, non-governmental and private sector organizations. His recent work focuses on institutional arrangements in and around value chains that foster inclusive business models; the ‘art of scaling’ which combines scaling practice and scaling science; and opportunities for leveraging impact investments and other forms of responsible finance for large-scale landscape restoration involving smallholders.
