Mr. Grønstad joined the Norwegian Embassy in Jakarta in 2016. Prior to his arrival in Jakarta he served as a senior adviser in the Norwegian Environment Agency (since 2006) and the Norwegian Ministry on Climate and Environment (since 2014). In these positions, he was following the work of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and part of the Norwegian team negotiating the Paris Climate Agreement under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Mr. Grønstad’s educational background is in law and communications, and he holds a degree in communication and public relations from Inland Norway University on Applied Sciences. He served as the President of the Norwegian Children and Youth Council from 2004 to 2007, Vice President of the UN Association of Norway from 2005 to 2007 and as Board Member and later Vice President responsible for global cooperation in the European Youth Forum from 2007 to 2010.
