Brian Johnson

Brian is a Research Manager at the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), a sustainable development research institute located in Hayama, Japan. He has been working at IGES for 6 years, and before this he was a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Environmental Remote Sensing, Chiba University. Brian is working on various projects in Southeast Asia related to land-use change mapping, scenario analysis, and impact assessment. His research interests include remote sensing, land use/land cover change analysis, and spatial modeling. He received a PhD in Geosciences from Florida Atlantic University in 2012, and a MA in Geography from the same university in 2007.
