Bibi la Luz is a creative enthusiast merging food security, climate sustainability and human rights. She is the founder of Eat Better Wa’ik, an organization in Guatemala devoted to reducing malnutrition through education. She holds an MA. International Political Economy (University of Warwick, UK), and is part of numerous organizations, including Global Shapers, One Young World, Young Leaders of the Americas, World Merit, Trust Changemakers, Social Gastronomy, Climate Reality, and others. She is within the 50Next inaugural list by the World’s 50 Best Restaurants, awarded as one of the three Heroes of the Pandemic in Guatemala, and most recently on the Forbes 100 Powerful Women in Central America. She previously worked at the World Food Programme, international and NGOs, academia, media, and is actively involved within the UN Food Systems Summit and COP26 (especially within the FACT Multi-Stakeholder Taskforce).
