Benoît Clément is a carbon market and climate finance executive with over 15 years weaving the fields of technology, finance, and nature-based solutions. He currently helps senior leadership of companies build and deploy their business, market, and product strategies to successfully deliver capital towards climate-focused projects.
Previously, Benoît was Director of Financial Innovation at Verra, where he led product and market strategy to scale institutional investment into carbon markets, driving a 58% revenue increase and developing Verra’s first digital asset registry in partnership with a major global financial institution. He co-chaired IETA’s Digital Climate Markets Working Group, contributing to the standardization of data and financial mechanisms that underpin transparent and efficient carbon markets. Earlier in his career, Benoît co-founded ReForestry, an agroforestry fintech initiative to support smallholder farmers in East Africa and LATAM, and served as Deputy Division Manager at Tetra Tech, where he helped manage California’s $270M wildfire recovery program. Through his consultancy, Quantum Apex, he has advised clients including Google, McKinsey, BCG, and Ernst & Young on climate tech, market design, and environmental finance strategy. Benoît holds an Executive MBA in Sustainability Management, a Chief Product Officer Executive Scholar Certificate from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, a Program Management Professional (PgMP) and Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate from PMI, and is a frequent speaker at carbon and climate events.
