Bambang Arifatmi is Ph.D. Candidate for Regional Planning and Urban Studies at the University of New Orleans. His research focus is to explore political decentralization and deforestation in Indonesia. His undergraduate in forestry management received from Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) and master degree in Regional Planning from the University of New Orleans.
At present, he serves as National Forestry Consultant for UN-REDD at the United Nations of FAO. His interest is related to National Forest Monitoring System (NFMS), peatlands restoration, and responsible production and consumption of palm oil.
