Dr. Anneke Trux is the Head of GIZ’s “Global Programme Protection and Rehabilitation of Soils for Food Security (ProSoil)”.
She has been working for GIZ since 1991 and has considerable working experience in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Mediterranean and Central Asia. Her previous positions include Head of Unit for Sectoral and Management training within GIZ’s Academy for International Cooperation and the team leader of NRM and rural development projects and programs at the German Development Cooperation.
Dr. Trux co-authored Germany’s first-ever report on climate change to the German Parliament in 1988, and the linkages between climate change, soils and human life have been a centerpiece of her professional career.
Dr. Trux holds a doctoral degree from the University of Bonn, and key areas of her expertise include climate change, environmental policy, rural development, human capacity building, leadership and management and organizational development.
