Andrea Morales

YIL alumna, biologist and conservationist

Andrea Morales-Rivas is a biologist and conservationist from El Salvador. Her interests include the study of wildlife together with environmental education and local community-based initiatives.  She is also part of a bat conservation program in her country to study and raise awareness of this group of animals. In 2017, Andrea was awarded a DAAD scholarship to pursue her master’s studies in landscape ecology and nature conservation in Germany. She is currently working together with national park rangers and German scientists in developing strategies for monitoring and research native fauna in a protected area in El Salvador.
