Based in Hanoi, Vietnam, Amanda Fine oversees WCS health initiatives in Asia, which have included USAID’s Emerging Pandemic Threat Program’s PREDICT Project in Vietnam and Mongolia, and projects building national wildlife disease surveillance capacity in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Amanda has a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania, and a PhD in Epidemiology from Michigan State University. Amanda has led conservation programs in Mongolia and implemented interdisciplinary health projects focused on zoonotic disease surveillance, avian influenza in wild birds, Foot and Mouth Disease in wild and domestic ungulates, and Peste des Petits Ruminants virus at the wildlife/livestock interface.
