Based in Asia, Alexandra Talty is a multimedia ocean journalist. As an Ocean Reporting Fellow with the Pulitzer Center, she investigated the American seaweed industry. Previous investigations include Indigenous fishing rights in North America, groundwater contamination on Long Island, New York and the environmental spark of Lebanon’s revolution in 2019. Her words have been in the New York Times, the Guardian and Outside Magazine, among others. She is the former host of “South Fork Sea Farmers,” a monthly TV program on aquaculture and fishing. In addition to an LA Press Club Award, her reporting has been awarded a Knight-Wallace Fellowship and a National Press Club Agricultural Fellowship.
