Alex Nene serves as the Senior Associate Advocacy, East & Southern Africa at the Rainforest Alliance. Based in Nairobi, he has over 14 years experience in policy & advocacy, stakeholder engagement, program development and implementation in agriculture, trade and health sectors as well as youth empowerment gained in public, private and NGO. Alex holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Egerton University, a post graduate certificate in Advanced Leadership for Africa’s Food Security and Sustainability from the Centre for African Leaders in Agriculture (CALA). Alex is skilled in Food Systems Transformation, Project Management, Private Sector Development, Advocacy, ESG, SDG and Data Analysis among other qualifications.
