He is an experienced manager in forest landscapes, conservation and climate-smart agriculture programs. He has supported indigenous communities’ efforts to protect their lands against deforestation from illegal mining, unsustainable logging and extractive industries. Has mentored indigenous social enterprises to produce high-quality products and engage sustainable commercial relationships with responsible buyers.
He has worked with WWF in Peru, leading landscape-scale conservation projects and promoting strategic partnerships with indigenous peoples’ organisations. Aldo has designed the first development impact bond in agriculture, and currently is structuring a climate-smart agriculture impact bond to support indigenous communities in Peru and reduce deforestation.
