Alberto Millan is a Sustainable Finance Advisor at the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) and leads the sustainable finance strategy of the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS). Alberto focuses on harnessing science and the power of finance to advance sustainable development. He is responsible for building strategic partnerships with public and private investors to develop sustainable finance investment initiatives for the land use sector.
Prior to that, he worked as an agricultural specialist at the World Bank Global Food and Agriculture Practice in Washington DC, where he advised teams and clients on climate and agriculture finance. Previously, Alberto worked as an agriculture and financial inclusion expert for the UN, several NGOs and a development bank based out of Europe, Africa and Asia. Outside of work, Alberto enjoys rock climbing, snorkeling and trail running with his partner in remote mountainous locations.
