Agostino Inguscio is the policy lead on Climate Change and Green Finance in the G7/G20 Sherpa Office of the Italian Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
He joined the Presidency from the European Commission where he was a policy officer (2017-2020) working on ecological transitions in the Climate Action task force of the Healthy Planet Directorate.
Before joining the Commission, Agostino held a British Academy Advanced Newton Fellowship (2015-2016), he was a lecturer in Economic History at the University of Cape Town (2014-2015), he worked as post doc at the Economic Growth Center of Yale University (2012-2014), and he taught European Business Environment at the ESCP Business School (2010-2011).
He is a visiting lecturer for the LLM – International Sustainable Development at the University of Milan where he teaches the course “Tackling Climate Change” and he is a visiting lecturer at LUMSA University in Rome where he teaches the course “Africa and Europe”. He holds a Master’s (St John’s College – 2007/2008) and a Doctorate (Hertford College – Senior Scholar – 2008/2012) in Economic and Social History from the University of Oxford.
