Agnes Nafuma

Agnes Nafuna is a married smallholder female farmer who belongs to Bunabudde Organic Cooperative Society in Bulambuli District, Eastern Uganda. She is the treasurer of the cooperative society. Coming from a coffee cultivating area, on the slopes of Mt. Elgon, Agnes is an ardent Arabica coffee farmer, which she cultivates on a 2-acre piece of land. The trees on her coffee farm offer shade which improves the quality of the coffee beans. She has also integrated trees in her banana and vegetable gardens cognizant of the positive interactions particular tree species offer crops. Fodder trees have also facilitated the production of dairy from her zero-grazed cows.
