Dr. Agnes Kalibata is President of the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), an institution she has led since 2014. AGRA works with other partners to promote inclusive agricultural transformation and sustainable development in Africa.
Dr. Kalibata was recently appointed by the UN Secretary-General as the Special Envoy for the 2021 Food Systems Summit. The Summit aims to serve as a catalytic process within the Decade of Action to galvanise global efforts towards improving food systems around the world to deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Paris Agreement.
She has a distinguished track record as an agricultural scientist, policy maker and thought leader. She serves on a number of regional and international advisory bodies.
