Mr. Herve Martial MAÏDOU, a Central African national, has been the Executive Secretary of the Central African Forests Commission (COMIFAC) since June 2021. He has a total of 36 years of professional experience, including 6 years of direct support to COMIFAC as the Regional Coordinator of the capacity-building project for REDD+, funded by the World Bank from 2012 to 2018, and 3 years as Executive Secretary. A trained forestry engineer, he holds a doctorate in Natural Resource Management, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Management, and accreditation as an International Development Project Manager. Throughout his professional career, he has held the position of Director of the Communication Unit in the office of the Central African Minister of Water, Forests, Hunting and Fishing, and the Environment for 8 years, Director of the Forest Management Project for eleven (11) forest concessions with funding from the French Development Agency for 12 years, then international consultant for the management of a World Bank-funded project for natural resource governance for the Ministries of Forests and Mines in the Central African Republic for 2 years before taking up his current position. His skills and merit have been recognized by his country, which has awarded him the ranks of Officer in the Order of National Recognition and Commander in the Order of Merit of Labor of the Central African Republic.
